Black spider and white rose,
Held together by a thread of gold.
Inexorably linked by a single chain
And by the story they both hold.

Given by the same one hand,
A hand now burning cold.
Tiny black spider and stone white rose,
Held in the hand that you now hold.

Whispers of hate and of love,
Two words with one mouth told.
Poisonous spider and frail white rose
Held together by a chain of gold.
